  Detail-orientated, task-driven, and inquisitive, Mike Bederka can sort through the jargon and craft interesting pieces from complex subject matter. He’s currently editor at ADVANCE Newsmagazines and a versatile freelance journalist. Mike’s articles have appeared in Funworld, Delaware Today, Main Line Today, Philadelphia Style, Where Magazine, the Aquarian Weekly, the Hunt Magazine, Times Philadelphia, Delaware Bride, Babson Magazine, Go PA Magazine, Go WV Magazine, and Philadelphia Weekly.
Prior to joining ADVANCE, he spent several years in the newspaper business as a writer and editor. Throughout his 11-year journalism career, Mike has earned several industry honors, including awards from the Associated Press, the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors, and the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism and a minor in Black American Studies.
